Brianna Kelley hit a basket with :07 remaining to give
Greeneville a 48-47 victory over Chuckey-Doak in one of the most thrilling games of the tournament to
kick off the final day.
The lead changed hands seven times and there were four times the
score was tied. The Lady Knights thought they had done enough with a strong start to the fourth to
pull out the win, leading by three possessions, but a late timeout to set up a the winning play
proved big for Greeneville.
The Lady Devils (12-4) got the benefit of 11 points from the foul
line in the one-point victory. They were sent to the line 17 times, 10 inthe second half.
Chuckey-Doak took only six free throw attempts and hit four of them.
Kelley's 15 points, six
rebounds and five assists led Greeneville, who was up 26-23 at halftime. Samantha Fender scored 14.
Chandler Christopher had 10 points and seven assists.
The Lady Knights (9-4) were led by 14
points from Karly Frye. Kayla Aubry had 13 points and a game-best eight rebounds.
