LADY RED RALLIES TO WIN

Cocke County finished on a 33-10 run to stun Maryville on Tuesday evening.  The Lady Red (12-2) rallied from an 11-point third-quarter deficit to put away the Lady Rebels (9-2), 55-43.

Trailing 33-22, CC reeled off 10 straight markers from the mid-point of the third period into the early stages of the fourth. A Jayla Lane3-pointer gave the Lady Red a lead at 37-36 at the 5:10 mark. From there, another trey by Lane, her fifth of the evening, and a long-range bomb by Morgan Buda helped Cocke County distance themselves from the ladies out of Blount County.

Lane paced the winners with 15 points. Shannon Depew, Allie Sprouse and Buda chipped in with nine a piece in support. Depew ripped down a game-high nine rebounds and Sprouse added seven as CC finished with a36-29 rebounding advantage on the night. Buda contributed a game-best seven assists.

Maryville's Alex Breazeale led all scorers with 20 points, which included five 3-pointers. Miranda Maples scored 11.
