Shannon Depew had a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds and Morgan Buda scored a game-best 21 to lead Cocke County to a 61-51 win over Livingston Academy in the first round of the tournament.

The game was close with six lead changes in the first couple of minutes, but the Lady Red's shooting allowed then to pull away to a 23-16 lead by the end of the first, and they never tailed again.

Cocke County (11-2) hit its first 10 shots from the field and wound up hitting 54.5 percent for the game (24-of-44).

The Lady Red led 32-26 at the break. The Lady Wildcats (11-3) still had trouble finding the mark in the second half, never mounting a serious threat to the lead.

Alley Sprouse scored 16 and blocked five shots for Cocke County.

Livingston was led by 19 points from Mackenzie Sells and 13 from Shelby Taylor.
