West Takes Third
Morristown West took third in this
year’s Ladies’ Classic, bouncing back from their first loss of the season with a strong 62-46 win
over Maryville.
It was a close game through the opening half with the Lady Trojans leading by two
after the first quarter and taking a 24-21 lead into halftime.
The Lady Trojans (12-1) blew
it open after the break, outscoring the Lady Rebels (7-6) by a dozen to set the stage for the
win.
Taylor Hall paced Morristown West with 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a
tournament record-tying nine steals. Sidney Goins led the Lady Trojans in scoring with 20. Kelley
Smith knocked down three3-pointers, scoring 13.
Maryville’s Bailie Roberts carried the load
for the Lady Rebels with 20 points, five rebounds and three steals. Rebekah Singleton score
nine.
