Greene Devils Place Fifth
Rainey Story came off the
bench to score a game-high 19 points and lead Greeneville’s Lady Devils to a 55-45 win over
Dobyns-Bennett and a fifth place finish in the Ladies’ Classic.
Story’s points were a welcome
addition for the Devils, still without starter Brianna Kelley, who has a knee injury. Nicole Dickson
scored 16points and Morgan Shipley added 12 to give Greeneville three ladies in double-digit
storing.
They needed those points as D-B got 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots
from Blaine Frohlich and 10 points apiece from Megan Devine and Juli Osborne.
The Lady Devils
led by only a bucket, 16-14, after one quarter, butthey spread the advantage with a 14-6 run in the
second frame thatstaked them to a 30-20 halftime edge.
Dobyns-Bennett got the deficit back
down to seven, but could get no closer. Greeneville (11-5) regained the advantage and upped it to as
many as 16 in the final period. The Lady Indians (9-5) had 21 turnovers in the
game.
