D-B Gets Date With Greene Devils
Dobyns-Bennett’s Lady
Indians of Kingsport earned a berth against Greeneville for fifth place in the tournament after
posting a 59-49 victory over Lausanne Collegiate School Tuesday night.
Dobyns-Bennett flexed
its muscles in the second quarter, breaking from a 12-12 first quarter tie to take a 29-17 halftime
edge. The Indians used their size to good advantage, getting 19 points from Megan Devine,a
double-double from Blaine Frohlich with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and 10 points from Holly France.
Tori Head dished out nine assists.
Lausanne’s Breana Williams scored 19 points while Jessica
Green scored 11. Monica Miller just missed a double-double with 11 rebounds and
nine points.
Dobyns-Bennett (9-4) pulled ahead by 43-27 after three, then held off the Lynx
(11-3) who rallied to cut the gap in the final quarter.
Lausanne was playing without ace
Lauren Avant, who became ill during Monday’s game with South Greene and had to pay a trip to a
doctor Tuesday, where it was determined she had the flu.
