Bob Jones showed the form that enabled them to win the Alabama 6A state title last year, working inside and outside in a 59-31 win over South Greene in the seventh-place game.

Four players scored in double figures for the Lady Patriots (17-2), with Tennessee signee Jasmine Jones pacing everyone with 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots. Tierra Jones added 12 points and seven boards, while Meredith Lovelady (11 points) and Katie Colson (10 points) had strong games off the bench.

The Lady Rebels (5-9) received 13 points and seven rebounds from Maelyn Cutshaw, but she was the only player to score in double figures for South Greene. The Lady Rebels shot 27.6 percent (8-for-29) from the field and committed 17 turnovers which led to 20 points for the Lady Patriots.

Bob Jones led from start to finish, holding a 17-7 lead after one quarter and 34-17 at halftime. The Lady Patriots continued to expand their lead in the second half, with the final score representing their largest advantage of the game.

The Lady Patriots controlled the inside game against the Lady Rebels, finishing with a 37-20 rebound margin and a 28-4 edge in points in the paint. Lovelady hit three three-pointers late in the second quarter to expand the Bob Jones lead from single digits to 17 points at intermission.

With her 13-point performance against Bob Jones, Cutshaw finished the four-day tournament with an average of 23.3 points per game. She led all players in free throws made (30) and attempted (37) after going 9-for-11 at the stripe on Thursday.
