Maelyn Cutshaw scored eight of her tournament high 36 points in overtime and Victoria Franklin had a double-double to lead South Greene to a thrilling 79-70 win over Morristown East that has the Lady Rebels playing for seventh on Friday.

Cutshaw was 14-of-20 from the floor with a 3-pointer. She hit 7-of-7 free throws, had five rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Franklin finished with 11 points and 17 rebounds, adding four steals, three blocked shots and a pair of assists to a strong outing.

Morristown East started off with a 10-2 run and held a 21-14 at the end of the first.

The Lady Rebels pulled themselves back into with their defense. A steal and a layup by Ashton Wykle at the 4:00 mark of the second quarter tied the game at 26. A minute later, another turnover by the Lady Hurricanes resulted in Jenna Shaw going to the line and giving South Greene its first lead of the game.

South Greene held the lead through halftime, a lead that was trimmed to 35-34 thanks to a running heave by Morristown East's Jordan Hayes that went in at the buzzer.

Franklin scored eight points in the third quarter to help the Lady Rebels hold a 52-50 lead heading into the fourth.

Morristown East's Gaby Gilbmore hit a layup to tie it at the start of the fourth, and it was a dog fight the rest of the way.

The Lady Rebels thought they'd won it in regulation when Cutshaw drove the lane, drew contact on a made basket and converted a three-point play to put South Greene up by two with 6.4 seconds remaining. That was enough time for the Lady Hurricanes to get back down the floor and tie the contest at 70 on a layup by Jade Hale at the horn.

Cutshaw took over for South Greene in the added frame, and East never had an answer.

Morristown East (12-3) was led by 21 points from Leslie Berquist. Hale scored 13. Emily Hensley had 12 rebounds.

South Greene (5-8) got 11 from Bethanie Williams. Javan Wilhoit had five assists.
