The Bradley Central Bears chalked up their second straight Ladies Classic championship, beating the same team that they defeated last season, Oak Ridge, 54-48 Saturday night.

The two teams staged a good duel, with Bradley gaining the early upper hand and only allowing Oak Ridge one brief lead, which came in the third quarter by a point. The Bears were up 15-11 after one quarter and 30-28 at halftime, then improved that advantage by three points going down the home stretch.

The Wildcats had the deficit at three points at 49-46 with 1:30 left, but two foul shots by Cambree Mayo and two more by Rhyne Howard after an Oak Ridge missed shot gave the Bears all the margin they needed.

Howard was named the tournament MVP for the second straight year.The Kentucky signee had 21 points to lead her team. Jamaryn Blair added 10.

Oak Ridge got 16 points from Mykia Dowdell and 11 from Jada Guinn.

Bradley is unbeaten at 16-0 and Oak Ridge is 10-4.
