South Greene Makes Semis

South Greene's Lady Rebels made it to the tournament semifinals,impressively putting away Lausanne Collegiate School of Memphis 62-42. The Rebs never trailed in the contest after taking a slender 10-7 first quarter advantage.

Junior guard Rechelle Dye had a standout game for the Rebels (11-1),with her stat line telling it all: 22 points on 5-10 from the field and9-10 free throws, five assists and seven rebounds. She got help from senior Megan Casteel with 14 points, while sophomore Ansley Ricker netted 10 points.

Lausanne (11-2) got 14 points from Monica Miller but no other player in double digits. Lausanne is the defending state champ in Division II-A in the state of Tennessee.

After a 27-21 lead at halftime, the Rebels went on a third quarter run behind three 3-pointers, two by Dye and one by Ricker, to stretch the lead to 10 points and the Lynx could not catch up. It was 43-34 after three quarters and the lead continued to grow in the final period.
