Hannah Dawson scored 32 points and Ceny Phelps added 20 to help Shelbyville Central close strong in the second half to get by Buena58-48 on Monday.

The Eaglettes (8-5) had their hands full from the visitors from California in the opening half. Buena (9-6) trailed by five at the endof the first quarter but rallied to make it close  by the break. The only thing separating the two sides was a layup by Dawson near the buzzer that gave the Eaglettes a 26-24 lead going into the locker room.

The game was decided in the third quarter when Dawson and Phelps led Shelbyville to a 19-12 scoring advantage and out front for good. Thelead changed hands five times and the game was tied five other occasions.

Keani Albanez led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points. Holly Holcomb recorded five steals.

Phelps led Shelbyville in rebounding with seven and hit four 3-pointers.
