Sycamore 3-Point Happy

The Sycamore High Lady War Eagles love to shoot the 3-pointer, and they set a couple of tournament records in their 78-55 win over West Greene.

The War Eagles set records for  most 3-pointers made by a team ina game (15), as well as most 3-point attempts in a game by a team (36).Shawna Ellis made the most, seven, and came up one shy of an individual record. Nevertheless, she finished the game with 28 points. Andrea Seagroves scored 13, Ashley Barksdale had 12 and Sara Bliss scored 10.Abbey Brown had 10 rebounds as Sycamore yanked down 49 in the game.

West Greene was led by Colleen Cavanagh with 12 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Korey Mathes and Kayla Murphy each had 10 points.

The game was close at intermission with Sycamore (8-4) clinging to a35-33 lead. The Buffs closed to one early in the third, but the War  Eagles survived that surge and regained the momentum with their long-range bombs.

The Buffs (3-10) shot only 29 percent from the floor for the game while Sycamore shot 41 percent.
